Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED Fog Pod Light with Bracket. This three inch LED fog pod light is gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. If you're thinking about upgrading your fog lamps on your vehicle, this might be a good option for you to consider. As you can see, this does come with a bracket and hardware to install this virtually anywhere on your vehicle.

And I do have a bracket here just by itself. And this is construction of durable aluminum. And this is going to be a pretty simple install with the included hardware. And another nice feature that these brackets offer is that you are able to tilt the angle of the light and you can set it just where you want it and then tighten it down with that hardware in the bracket. Now let me go ahead and shut my studio lights off here just to give you an idea of what this is going to look like in low light or dark conditions.

So you see what it looks like there on that wide view. I think the better view to give you is to shine this on the wall behind me just so you can see that beam. That fog pattern beam is gonna give you a high intensity light and an extremely wide field of view, as you can see there. This light has a color temperature of 3000 kelvin. So this yellow color is gonna be great for bad weather.

This is gonna cut right through rain and fog and it's going to allow you to have better visibility in weather such as that. And the raw lumen rating that this has is 5,220 lumens, and the measured lumen rating is 2,700 lumens. Let me go ahead and turn my studio lights back on just so you can see what that beam looks like on the wall here. Even with my bright studio lights on. I'm gonna go ahead and turn this back around, zoom back in, and I'm gonna go ahead and shut this down just so I'm not continuing to blind you.

Now this has a candela rating of 10,900 candela. You might be wondering what kind of rating that is. Well, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional light output, like regular bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. This does have a power draw of 2.7 amps. This light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. And unlike older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom TIR optic collects and focuses all of the light forward and does it very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly onto this lens surface. So this is going to prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're actually gonna lose some of that light. You can lose up to 10% of it just from it shining through that lens. So by making it as a a part of this lens, you're gonna pick up some efficiency. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch style connector. You see that pigtail plugged into this light. This is another one of those pigtails, obviously not plugged in, and I'm just using it to show you that Deutsch style connector. And then also on the back of this light, hopefully you can see this here, we do have a breather patch that's going to prevent any moisture buildup. And these heat sinks on the back of the housing of this light, they're gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to increase the longevity of this light. And this light has been built with high intensity LED chips. It does feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. The heavy duty construction is going to withstand things such as extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components. And just so you know, Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now just to give you some overall measurements, looking at the width first, from end to end, we're sitting about three and a quarter inches wide. Looking at the height, from end to end, it's gonna be the same measurement, three and a quarter inches tall. If you add the bracket to it, of course that's going to increase the height. So measuring from the top to the bottom of our bracket, we're sitting at about three and three quarters inches tall. And then the overall depth from the front of our light all the way to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting right at about two and three eighths inches deep. Now this light draws high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you are not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do wanna be sure that you're using wire that size 16 gauge or larger. Now we do also offer this light as a pair.
